I’m OddDad. At age five, my son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, specifically Asperger’s Syndrome. He is an energetic, thoughtful, sweet boy with meltdowns that would bring a two-year old to shame. And that’s just the tip of the Autism iceberg that can sink a family without proper health professional support, your own research, and commitment to loving each other regardless.
Through the diagnosis experience with him, my wife and I recognized in me (really it was my wife), corresponding autism symptoms. At age 44, I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder – Asperger’s Syndrome.
This blog chronicles our family experience with Autism. The blog is part catharsis, part comedy, part tragedy, and, most importantly, intended to be helpful to other Autism families searching for hope in the Autism jungle.
